It's a great idea that's ideal for this medium - an accommodation "dating service" that matches host and visitor preferences. Of course this means the system is reliant on people sharing their preferences, and information can be imperfect at times. A database site behind the site and a private ID and password are emailed to the visitor before they can view the database online. The site requires that the hosts offering accommodation, as well as the users of the site, pay a fee for the services. Most sites would provide such a service free to one party, and charge the other. By charging both parties however, the fees are kept to a minimum and, there does seem to be a growing list of available accommodation. Considering that Gisborne, in Dec 1999 - Jan 2000, will attract such a large number of visitors, this will no doubt be a popular resource.
