Flashing pictures and "Danger Adrenaline Fallout" signs succeed in creating an action theme for this site. Good use of fonts and font colours against a black background add further to this effect.
As well as rafting, River Valley Ventures link with other tourism operators to provide raft/jetboat/bungy package deals which are detailed on the sites "Special Deals" page. Real Audio is used to good effect on the site adding birdsong, chirping crickets and even a running river. For the latter we couldn't help thinking that perhaps a movie would illustrate the rafting experience a little better? Given the propensity the site's designers seem to have for Internet technologies, this addition is, probably, already in the pipeline. One minor criticism is that, although the site has very detailed pricing for all tour options (even meals), it does not state which currency the prices are in. We assumed $NZ however, international audiences may not. Addition of a currency convertor might also be a good idea considering the strong emphasis on providing pricing information. The "Postcard" section works well providing good interaction with viewers and the photo gallery is comprehensive. A good example of how a site can work to reflect some of the excitement and uniqueness of the product it represents. |
