Out and About

Out and About is a very effective resource for international and domestic visitors to Auckland as well as Aucklanders themselves. Primarily, the site centres around what there is to see and do in the region, everything from events, movies and restaurants to adventure activities. An accommodation guide has recently been introduced and adds further appeal for visitors to Auckland. The site has a clean and effective interface and is driven by a pretty sophisticated (but easy to use) search engine. The search engine also has a novel feature - generate a random result if you're not sure what you feel like doing and are open to a surprise. The search engine consistently returns good results showing the site is content-rich and kept up-to-date. Overall the site was easy to use and operated smoothly although, one judge did have a slight problem with response times and images failing to load. This however, may have been due to high traffic at the time of access. So, if you're wondering what to do in Auckland today, next week or next month you'd better visit Out and About.
