A beautiful site which reflects the essence of the creations within. Images are well rendered and utilise numerous effects including partial transparancy to blend into the page. Scroll over effects which "spotlight" the site's main categories also add impact. The e-Commerce element has been effectively incorporated too. A shopping basket system with a secure check-out. We still see quite a number of sites which don't provide a means for visitors to follow up there interest with a purchase. The product details and pictures give a good idea of what you are about to purchase which is important, as it can sometimes be difficult to convey an unusual or unique item using the web medium. Our judges liked the idea that this site makes it so easy for people overseas to obtain a product which provides an insight into our place, people and culture. The only criticism was that there could be more items on the site. The earth range presently features only one item. Still, we'd prefer quality over quantity. The quantity is by far the easier to remedy. The site does not show or sell products from factories or large manufacturers, only works by craftspeople from small "cottage" and home based businesses. As well as interest from potential, past and virtual visitors to New Zealand, we're sure the site will provide NZ'ers with a great resource for choosing a unique gift. Pay them a visit soon! |
