Lodges and Bed and Breakfast accommodation are two popular choices among visitors to New Zealand, especially those who like to get out of the central city and, into a more relaxed or scenic environment.

This site has been designed to allow fast access to information on quite a number of accommodation options around the country and, uses an unusual, but quite effective method of navigation. Unlike many 'frames' sites, which reserve one frame for a 'navigation toolbar', this site utilises both of its frames for displaying content AND navigation information. Whilst this method might spell disaster on sites which penetrate many 'layers' deep, it works well here. Information is displayed quickly with just enough detail, (establishment name, a small picture and approximate tarrif) plus, a link to page featuring more comprehensive information.

Whilst the site scored well in all areas, there were a few simple additions our judges felt might help international visitors:

  1. A key for the colour coded map
  2. A statement that prices are in NZ$
  3. Inclusion of country and area codes in telephone numbers
These small changes would make this very effective site even more usable.
