The Regional Tourism and Events Award for August goes to...
Adventure Net
Adventure Net
A magazine style site which really goes behind the scenes of the many adventure oriented events taking place in NZ and Australia.

Some current features include "live updates" from a world record solo cycling attempt around Australia, accounts of expeditions to Everest and kite skiing in Antarctica.

A section where clubs offering outdoor pursuits can list their details free of charge, seems like a good idea. Whilst this site is very new, already a number of clubs have taken advantage of this facility.

A shame the site was released without any NZ events listed, a small amount of research surely could have yeilded a few events, just to get things started.

The navigation text (instead of a nav bar graphic) gets a little lost on some pages and, on the add listing page, the link home didn't work. These are minor criticisms however, and nothing the browser's back button doesn't solve.

Elsewhere, the site's designers have done a thorough job indeed. A site well worthy of a WETA.
